i have history with eco and sxsw.

in 2009 i stood up in a room of hundreds at the audience microphone to ask a question to the ceo of ustream.tv - i asked. .

'how much money is ustream.tv putting into the development of greener server technology with all the money they are making from celebritie endorsements on ustream' - the answer was none.  i followed this up with 'is that a texas thing' - this got a bit of a muted boo reaction.  fast forward to 2011 and a lot has changed for me personally in the last two years.

i'm not certain that ustream ever did invest any of the money they make from celebrities paying for services on ustream.tv and other video streaming hosts but i know we burn a lot of power, money and resources in data centres worldwide.  a lot has changed in this arena with some fantastic projects happening.

it's gonna be good to be back in austin as this might be the only time i get to austin again for another year after this trip because of the ark project.  i doubt i will travel out in march - i'd rather stream our ark into the event on a virtually trade floor stand.

that would be epic.
